Gallery TENWe have just received a beautiful glass panel made by David Kaplan and Annica Sandstrom. This panel is made from blown cylinders by David that are subsequently fused and kiln formed by Annica combining to make this free standing glass panel.
We have been asked on several occasions to explain the meaning of the P/P marking on the Barbara Rae print “Overberg”. It stands for ‘Printers Proof’ and is the notation given to a print which is signed by the artist and given to the master printer who was involved in the technical process of actually making the print. This fantastic print is currently available from Gallery TEN. The print image is very painterly and contains an estimated 30 or more printed colours in the final edition. Made in 1997 in an edition of 40 the edition is long since sold out, so this is a great opportunity to acquire a copy of this beautiful print. This print was not the property of Barbara Rae but the printer Gillian Murray, screenprinter at Edinburgh Printmakers. Print is SOLD.
The next show to go on at Gallery TEN is from artist Alfons Bytautas. We have just received all the works to go off to the framers.
The show titled “ALCHEMIA” is a wonderful series of recent paintings and drawings.
It will open on the 15th of March 2013.
Last Saturday we had our first authors event. This was a children’s story time with readings from authors Catherine Rayner and Alice Melvin. They kindly read from their publications and also drew a few pictures for the kids that came along. Big thanks to them and all those who made it along. Gallery TEN will do more of this sort of event as and when we have then opportunity.
